How we handle your data in the Timber timer app
Last updated: June 1, 2026The App is designed with privacy as the default. Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics are disabled until you explicitly opt in from the in-app consent prompt (shown after you have used the App for several timer sessions) or from Settings → Privacy. The data described in the Analytics and Crash Reporting subsections below is only collected if and after you have given consent. You can revoke consent at any time.
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the App. AdMob may automatically collect:
On devices where consent is required by law (European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and certain US states), AdMob only collects identifying data after you have given consent through the in-app Google User Messaging Platform form on first launch. You can revisit and change this consent at any time from Settings → Privacy → Ad Privacy Options. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy.
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat may collect:
RevenueCat does not collect personally identifiable information. For more details, see the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Firebase Analytics (by Google) may collect, only after you have opted in:
This data is used solely to understand how users interact with the App and to improve the user experience. See the Firebase Privacy Information.
Firebase Crashlytics may collect, only after you have opted in:
This data is used exclusively to identify, diagnose, and fix app crashes and stability issues. See the Firebase Privacy Information.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information. We do not collect or transmit audio recordings, timer data, or any user-created content to external servers. We do not use any form of user authentication or account system.
Throughout this policy, "collect" means information that is sent to our servers or to a third-party service. Information stored only on your device is not "collected" under this policy.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent UK / Swiss laws:
Because the App does not require an account and collects no directly identifying information, requests for access, rectification, or erasure can usually be fulfilled by the in-app data reset functions. For other requests, please contact us at the email address in the Contact section below.
Data Controller: The publisher of the Timber app, contactable at spcfdoho.dev@gmail.com.
If you are a resident of a US state with comprehensive privacy legislation, you have the following rights regarding personal information:
We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. The App may share device identifiers with our advertising partner (Google AdMob) for the purposes of displaying relevant ads, which some state laws classify as a "sale" or "share." You can opt out of this through the in-app Ad Privacy Options entry.
The third-party services used by the App (Google AdMob, Google Firebase, RevenueCat) are operated by companies based in the United States. When the App sends data to these services, that data is transferred to and processed in the United States. These providers rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where applicable) for international data transfers as required by GDPR and other applicable laws.
The App is not directed at children. Our intended audience is users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
The App requests the following device permissions:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Internet | Required to display ads (AdMob), validate purchases (RevenueCat), and send analytics / crash diagnostics to Firebase when you have opted in. |
| Record Audio | Capture custom voice recordings for use as media inside timer blocks. Recordings are stored on your device and never uploaded. |
| Foreground Service / Foreground Service (Media Playback) | Allow the timer to continue running accurately and play audio / visual cues when the screen is off or the app is in the background. |
| Post Notifications | Show timer progress and completion notifications, plus media controls when a timer is running. |
| Wake Lock | Prevent the device from sleeping during an active timer session. |
| Read / Write External Storage (Android 8 and 9 only) | On legacy Android versions, used to save imported media into the Documents/Timber folder. On Android 10 and newer, scoped storage handles this without any permission, and these permissions are not requested. |
The App uses Android's Storage Access Framework (the system file picker) to let you choose audio, video, or image files. It does not request broad access to your photo, video, or audio library — the system only grants the App access to the specific files you pick.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last updated" date above. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
